Image 44 is especially developed to suit both HiFi and home theatre. The slim, elegant design and the black high gloss finish make the loudspeaker into a piece of furniture which blends in naturally. Two 4,5" woofers and one 1" super tweeter are placed at listening height. The tweeter is mounted in an aluminium die-cast capsule and plays inside, in a so called, double chamber. The aluminium capsule floats (but it still completely fixed in place), suspended against the speaker box, resulting in improved linearity and lower distortion.
All drive units in the loudspeaker are magnetically shielded. Identical drive units are also found in the center speaker Image 22, in order to create a voice matched loudspeaker system for home theatre. Image 44 has an internal design, called quarter wave pipe, for improved efficiency and transient response. The loudspeaker has a massive stand with aluminium die-cast feet for optional use of rubber feet or metal spikes.
